Canary Cafe chef-owner Mansour Gorji celebrates five years in Addison with a special five-course Mediterranean menu for $50 (alcohol not included) available Tuesday – Saturday the entire month of July. Chef Gorji also introduces his fifth product this month with Gorji Gourmet’s hummus. For each anniversary dinner purchased $5 will be donated to the North Texas Food Bank as well as $5 when five or more Gorji Gourmet products are purchased. La Costeña Feel The Heat Jalapeño Eating Challenge
July 13, 2008

At 3pm on Sunday, July 13th, the La Costeña Feel The Heat Jalapeño Eating Challenge Tour returns to the Taste of Dallas to challenge jalapeño lovers to break last year’s record for the most jalapeños eaten within one minute. The current record in Dallas is 31 jalapeños. The winning contestant will be awarded a $500 cash prize. La Costeña will donate an assortment of its products to the North Texas Food Bank for the total number of jalapeños consumed by the contestants. Competitive eating is quickly becoming one of the fastest growing sports in the United States. The La Costeña Feel The Heat Jalapeño Eating Challenge gives everyone the opportunity to try out this cultural phenomenon for a good cause. Contestants simply register on-site at the Taste of Dallas to compete in the fiery challenge.

Christmas in July

Experience Christmas in July at Martini Park, and give back to those in need. The North Texas Food Bank will be collecting cans for a cause. Help stop hunger by making a monetary donation or bringing canned goods to Martini Park in Plano on Tuesday, July 15th. The winter wonderland décor is sure to put you in the holiday spirit, along with live music from Panic At The Jukebox. Enjoy passed appetizers and specials on Absolute 100 featured cocktails throughout the night.
