What is the North Texas Food Bank Food Stamp Challenge?

We challenge you to try to eat and drink on only what $3 a day for five days will buy.   That’s what Food Stamps are worth for the average Texan.  Only about a $1 per meal, and that $1 buys increasingly less as food prices go up.

Our elected officials in Washington D.C. have the chance right now to increase the benefit amount, including the minimum benefit amount of $10.00, which hasn’t gone up in 30 years.

That is why we’re asking you to Take the North Texas Food Bank Food Stamp Challenge.  See what $3 a day will buy you in food and drink during any five days in October. Then share your experiences with others, including your elected officials in Washington D.C.
